The AgWagon is Cessna's purpose-built agricultural airplane: a chemical hopper where the passenger seat would be, a reinforced cockpit built to survive wire strikes, and flying that happens at fence height. Ag pilots are some of the sharpest sticks in aviation, and this was their standard ride for years.

Fun fact

The cockpit sits behind a crash-resistant hopper and frame — the whole airframe is designed around protecting the pilot in a low-altitude mishap.

How to spot one

Low-wing single-seat taildragger with spray booms along the wing trailing edge. If it's flying impossibly low over a field and pulling up hard at the trees, that's the job.

Sounds like
A big Continental at full power, very low, very early in the morning

One might be overhead right now.
