Airbus H225 Super Puma
The Super Puma
“The heavy hauler of the high seas.”
Airbus Helicopters · helicopter
The H225 is the last word in a Super Puma line that has flown since the 1970s — a big, all-weather twin that shuttles oil workers far offshore and flies search-and-rescue in conditions that ground everything else. When the weather is terrible and the distance is long, this is the machine.
Super Pumas routinely fly 200+ miles offshore in North Sea weather — among the harshest routine flying in civil aviation.
Big five-blade main rotor, long cabin with airline-style windows, and a distinctive nose profile. Usually in offshore operator colors or coast guard paint.
One might be overhead right now.
