Built
54
The Hawker 4000 was the first all-composite business jet fuselage ever built. Raytheon bet the ranch on it — advanced carbon fiber construction, natural laminar flow wing, and one of the quietest cabins in aviation. Only 54 were delivered before the program was shuttered.
Fun fact
The Hawker 4000 was so advanced that its carbon composite fuselage required entirely new manufacturing techniques that had never been used on a business jet.
How to spot one
Composite fuselage. Swept wing. T-tail. Only 55 built — very rare. First all-composite business jet.
Crews call it
The Horizon
Sounds like
PW308A — smooth, modern turbofan. A step up from older Hawkers.
One might be overhead right now.
