The Long-EZ is Burt Rutan's homebuilt icon: wing in the back, canard up front, propeller pushing from behind. Built from foam and fiberglass in garages, it delivers astonishing range on tiny engines and still looks like the future forty years on.
Fun fact
In 1979 a Long-EZ set a closed-course distance record of over 4,800 miles — on 115 horsepower.
