The Italian P2006T is the lightest certified twin in production, powered by the same little Rotax engines that fly light sport aircraft. Flight schools adore it: multi-engine training with fuel bills that look like a single's, and it happily burns autogas.

Fun fact

Both engines together sip about ten gallons an hour — many single-engine planes burn more.

How to spot one

High-wing twin that looks almost too small to be one — slim nacelles and tiny engines are the tell. Retractable gear, conventional tail.

Sounds like
Two Rotaxes buzzing politely — closer to a pair of motorgliders than a classic twin

One might be overhead right now.
