The story
The A319neo puts new-generation CFM LEAP-1A or Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines and Sharklets on the short A320-family body, for up to 160 seats. It first flew in March 2017, but interest was low, with the A220-300 competing for the same market, and only a few dozen have been delivered. Most went to Chinese airlines, led by Tibet Airlines, plus a handful of ACJ319neo business jets.
The ACJ319neo corporate version can carry eight passengers 6,750 nmi, about 15 hours, with up to five extra fuel tanks in the hold.
Quick answers
How do you identify a A319neo?
The short A320-family body usually with one overwing exit per side, like most A319ceos, but hung with big LEAP or PW1100G engines. Sharklets alone do not prove a neo, since late-built A319ceos can have them too; the larger engine nacelles do. A short Airbus with neo engines in Chinese airline colors is a strong bet.
