The story
The An-225 Mriya, Ukrainian for 'Dream,' was built to carry the Buran space shuttle and finished as the heaviest aircraft ever flown. Only one was ever completed. For thirty years she set cargo records no other aircraft could touch, until February 2022, when she was destroyed in her hangar at Hostomel Airfield in the first days of the invasion of Ukraine. This card is her memorial.
With a 290-foot wingspan and six engines, the Mriya once lifted a record 253.8-tonne payload, heavier than three fully loaded 737s.
