The story
The KC-46A Pegasus is the 767-based tanker bought to start replacing the KC-135. It carries a boom and hose-and-drogue systems, so it can refuel Air Force, Navy and allied aircraft on the same mission, and it can haul passengers, cargo or patients at the same time.
The KC-46's boom operator doesn't look out a window at the tail. The station sits just behind the flight deck, and the boom is flown using camera images, including a 3D view.
