The story
Fouga started out building gliders, and it shows: the Magister has long, slender wings, a V-shaped butterfly tail and two tiny Marboré turbojets, and it is as gentle as a jet gets. The Patrouille de France flew it for 16 years, and many survive as civilian-owned warbirds.
In the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel sent 44 of its Magister trainers into combat as close-support jets on the Sinai front.
