The story
The Learjet 35 is a stretched Learjet 25 with Garrett TFE731 turbofans. Counting its longer-range twin, the 36, 738 were built between 1973 and 1994. Fast, tough and able to take a stretcher, it became a favourite of air ambulance operators and air forces; the US Air Force flies it as the C-21A.
In 1976 golfer Arnold Palmer flew a Learjet 36, the long-range version, around the world in 57 hours 25 minutes, setting a class record.
