The story
The SIAI-Marchetti S.211 is a small Italian jet trainer with a big canopy and gentle manners. Only about 60 were built, and Singapore and the Philippines trained generations of pilots on them. When Singapore retired its fleet, many of the jets were sold off to new owners — which is why a 1980s military trainer keeps showing up on the radar.
Singapore built 24 of its 32 S.211s locally and based its whole S.211 training fleet in Australia.
