Pakistan International Airlines
PIA was once one of Asia's leading airlines in the 1960s and 70s, training pilots for Emirates and other Gulf carriers. Hard times followed, but the green crescent on the tail remains a symbol of pride for Pakistan's 230 million people.
PIA trained the pilots for many Gulf airlines in their early years, including Emirates. Several major Middle Eastern carriers owe their start to PIA's flight training programs.
