Florida's spring fly-in: a week of everything from homebuilts to warbirds, with the Blue Angels on the weekend.
What to look for
The show starts before the gates open. Performers, display teams and their support aircraft usually fly in a day or two early, and many teams practice over the field before the weekend. If you live nearby, look up in the days leading in.
The Blue Angels’ own jets don’t broadcast their positions, so they won’t appear on a live map. Their support aircraft does: Fat Albert, the team’s C-130J, flies in ahead of the show.
Static displays often bring aircraft you’d rarely see overhead, and they fly in and out too. Arrivals and departures on the Friday and the Monday are a spotter’s best chance at a rare catch.
