The story
The 777-200LR Worldliner was built to fly from almost anywhere to anywhere, with extra fuel tanks in the hold. Only 61 were built, but the same airframe lives on as the 777 Freighter, one of the most common long-haul cargo jets in the sky. A B77L on your screen is far more likely to be a freighter than an LR.
In 2005 a 777-200LR flew Hong Kong to London the long way round, eastbound, 21,601 km nonstop: a distance record for an airliner that stood for over 20 years.
