The story
The 787-8 is the Dreamliner that started it all: first flight in December 2009, first passengers with ANA in October 2011. At 186 feet it is the shortest 787, carrying the same 197-foot wingspan as its stretched siblings. Airlines have since shifted their orders to the bigger -9 and -10, and Boeing delivered just two -8s in 2025.
The 787 program's maiden flight on 15 December 2009 was a 787-8, and All Nippon Airways flew the first 787 passenger service with one on 26 October 2011.
