The story
The Archer is the 180-horsepower, tapered-wing member of the PA-28 Cherokee family and Piper's bread and butter. Low wing, four seats, and still in production as the Archer TX and LX. Every flight school has a few.
The PA-28 line has been in production since 1960, apart from a brief pause when the Archer was discontinued in 2009; new owners put it back on the line in 2010.
