The story
The P2008 is a two-seat, strut-braced high-wing trainer from Tecnam of Italy. It first flew in September 2008 and was the first Tecnam built with major composite parts: a carbon-fibre fuselage and fin, paired with metal wings and tail. A 100-hp Rotax 912 swings a two-blade propeller, and the cabin is wider than in Tecnam's earlier high-wings. Flight schools in Europe, Australia and the U.S. fly them, and Tecnam is still delivering new ones, including the CS-23 certified P2008JC NG.
Tecnam designed it with the American market in mind, and the first P2008 delivered went to the United States in December 2009.
