The story
The RV-6 is the side-by-side version that made Van's Aircraft a household name in general aviation. Where the RV-4 put seats in tandem, the RV-6 put them next to each other — making it a proper cross-country touring machine you could actually share with someone. Builders have completed thousands of them, each one slightly unique.
The RV-6 was the first Van's design with side-by-side seats and the first offered with a nosewheel (the RV-6A). Plenty of builders' spouses preferred it to the tandem RV-4.
