Avro Lancaster 'VeRA'
One of two airworthy Lancasters on Earth
Tail number C-GVRA

The story
Of the 7,377 Lancasters built, exactly two still fly — and this is the one in Canada. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum flies her out of Hamilton, Ontario all summer, four Merlin engines and all. In 2014 she crossed the Atlantic to fly formation with the only other airworthy Lancaster in the world.
Fun fact
She's named for Andrew Mynarski, a Lancaster gunner awarded the Victoria Cross for trying to free a trapped crewmate as their aircraft went down over France.
