The story
The 737-400 stretched the -300 by 10 feet to carry more passengers, with Piedmont Airlines as launch customer. It first flew in February 1988 and became the longest member of the 737 Classic family. Boeing built 486 before the Classic line closed in 2000.
The last 737 Classics ever delivered were a pair of 737-400s for CSA Czech Airlines on 28 February 2000.
